If you attended the Scots Law Fair last week then you are probably seeking a traineeship or a summer placement with one of the organisations that attended. Most were large commercial law firms and nearly every stand at the Fair was advertising traineeships to commence 2018; some had summer work experience opportunities too. This, increasingly, appears to be a way in to the scots law traineeship with some firms so you might find yourself applying for both routes.
Closing dates for these traineeships are coming up thick and fast – check out the law firms’ websites for details but a quick scan tells me that 7 October and 10 October are the closing dates for many.
You need to know the closing dates to keep you on track but some firms operate a rolling system where applications are open until they have enough and others operate closing dates but advise applying in advance of that date. The advice has to be to get applying now.
I have been advertising some extra appointments for feedback but remember that you can book appointments with any Careers Consultant using http://bit.ly/MyCareerHub if you are seeking feedback on your applications. Appointments open for booking 48 hours in advance from 0800 each morning.
